The clock strikes midnight, and we turn over a new leaf. Many of us have idealistic dreams of losing weight, being better parents, writing books, or a host of other goals. We may also hope to take our work to the next level.

#1 – I will meet new people.

It’s easy to get into a rut working at home. If you’re life is pretty routine outside of work as well, you may find you have few chances to meet new people. This year you can choose to expand your relational network!

One idea is to try a co-working space or a local coffee shop if you are used to working only at home. Getting out will open up opportunities to meet others. Outside of work, you might join a book club or volunteer some hours at an animal shelter each week. Whatever your strategy, make a plan to get out of the house and meet new people this year!

#2 – I will create my workspace.

Everyone thrives in different types of environments. One person may love a simple, clean, minimalist workstation, whereas another may feel at home in a busy space with photos, tchotchkes, and inspirational quotes. Style is unique, but most people find they appreciate having a designated place for work at home.
